Last night I got scared by the thought of staying at Jamaica Inn which sounded as if it has one or two more ghosts than I would like to come across. I wanted a good nights sleep and so went first to the supposedly best hotel in Fowey, Fowey Hall. Sadly it was far from that, I was given a room in the wing which was chocolate brown and depressing, although the entrance hall looked incredible. I really have to be careful where I stay. By lucky chance I found The Old Quay House by the actual quayside. Pretty comfortable and well run with a delicious pretty breakfast. I ate kippers for the first time in years.
