RULE BRITANNIA: RED WHITE AND BLUE AND A TRULY WONDERFUL DAY FOR THE DIAMOND JUBILEE

Yesterday I was surrounded by friends and having a direct view of the Queen on the barge.  My house is directly opposite The Cadogan Pier which is usually full of small boats.  In the pouring rain it was tidied up with flowers, secret service sticking out like sore thumbs and somebody on the gate taking names.  Flags were flying and thousands of buntings moved with the wind. Barriers were set up and hundreds of people bundled themselves behind them.  There was excitement in the air and  you could hear the bands playing.  It was truly a wonderful day to be British.

The Queen looked radiant in her  shimmering white coat with diamante and a chic chiffon hat, Katherine wore a red Alexander Mcqueen dress which caused criticism due to it's over use.  Kim Kardashian has worn it which of course brought it too much publicity, but come on it looks wonderful and fits beautifully?.  I have the same dress in black velvet.

Sharing time with Trinny Woodall, artists Sue Webster and Tim Noble, stylist George Blodwell, Jack English, artist Duggie Fields, artist Phil Scala, actress Justine Glenton, soprano Giulia Ladano and many others, made the whole thing more meaningful. My son Charles ended the party playing Nimrod and variations by Elgar on my Bechstein and singing with Adam Urosevic and Giulia Laudano.
