past the green leaves
and notice that
time has passed
and touched my skin
which now wrinkles
under bright light
my once tight neck
shows signs of
withering
my friendships seem
to grow weaker
too as people
find other interests
and thoughts to
amuse themselves
love that was once strong
and seeds that were planted well
got diseased by thoughts
and wind
and lost the power to survive
Is life worth living when
we return to dust
lost in the tunnel
of the souls digestion
Were the seeds worth
planting?
yes and no, each the wrinkle
tells stories
and make me smile and cry
as they to turn into faded shadows.
