THE EDGE OF A CLIFF BY AMANDA ELIASCH

I like to be
on the edge of a cliff
kept at sea
not knowing
what
is happening
to me
I like to be
swirled into
new waters
uncertain of
the outcome
yet certain
I like to be in
the middle of
a room
not speaking
a word
that is familiar
and listen
to the
ravishing
beauty of the
sound. Alone
nobody talking to
me
I like to be kept
at the edge of a
cliff
with the
uncertainty of
nature
just listening
to the waters
against
the hard rock.
