NICKY HASLAM CENTRE STAGE SINGING COLE PORTER

LUCY FERRY

ETHAN

My favourite Nicky Haslam set us alight with his singing last night in the beautiful new bar of the Savoy Hotel, the place to sing if you have to.  His renditions of Cole Porter took us on romantic paths sometimes easy sometimes hard.  I love Nicky for standing up and giving it his all, I love his enthusiasm, and I love his presents, his scarf from Top Shop with Butterflies and skulls.  A true friend and fun too.  The Savoy has its old world glamour back, there is no doubt about that.  His many friends were there supporting him, among them Antony Price, Jerry Hall, Lucy Ferry, Melissa Wyndham and Theo and Louise Fennell.

Earlier in the evening I was at Emilia Wickstead's fashion show at the Ritz Hotel in its gambling area downstairs, so suitable.  These clothes would be wonderful for Kate Middleton, she would then give Caroline of Monaco, Carla Bruni and the Queen of Jordan some cause for concern. Her wardrobe from Issa will be pretty, comfortable and wearable, and the clothes of Emilia's for night time and daytime.  They are beautifully cut, look expensive but are not, considering they are virtually couture and make you have the best body on the planet.  I am all for the funkier designers but sometimes you have to wear correct clothing and Emilia wins for her old fashioned rules with pzazz.

Amanda, enjoying your posts and this one especially-would love to hear some of these musings. Always admiring the super stylish Lucy Ferry-we, the same age, it is especially great to see her looking still the same.
